About me
I am a Certified Exercise Physiologist® through the American College of Sports Medicine® (ACSM). I got started in fitness through a dramatic weight loss journey as a teen, which then led me to pursue weight training and muscle growth. From there, it’s been a lifelong passion of mine to help others achieve their health and fitness goals. I work in Cornelius, NC as a personal trainer and fitness coach.

I studied at East Carolina University and earned my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Nutrition. I work with every-day people with busy lives and responsibilities to make sustainable lifestyle changes and live happier, healthier lives. I enjoy martial arts, hiking, reading, and spending time with my wonderful wife. In my day job I work as a consultant for a high-profile financial firm on how to improve the health and well-being of their workforce.
People today are busier than ever—overworked, stressed, and preoccupied with responsibilities that make it hard to prioritize exercise, healthy eating, or a regular sleep schedule. On top of this, fad diets and pseudo-science “gurus” add confusing layers of complexity to health advice. I believe that becoming healthier, stronger, and fitter is simple, though not necessarily easy. My goal with clients is to guide them with actionable steps that fit into their lifestyle and help them make small changes that lead them to their larger goal.
Weight Loss Journey
I specialize in working with weight-loss clients because I’ve been there myself. As a teen over the span of six months, I lost 100 pounds by learning the basics of calories in versus calories out and tracking with an app on my phone. I didn’t take many pictures back then because I was self-conscious about my appearance, but those around me noticed the transformation. Looking back, there are several things I would have done differently if I knew what I know now—like adding resistance training earlier, focusing on eating more protein, and taking a diet break halfway through.

Martial Arts
In college, I fell in love with martial arts and was able to flex my competitive and athletic drive that was dormant through high school. I focused on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing, and earned my blue belt in Jiu Jitsu. I competed in a handful of small tournaments and met some really wonderful people.
